Overlooking Maryville from Foothills Parkway 1

A drive along Foothills Parkway in Blount County, Tennessee during the early fall of 2017 affords a view of the County Seat, home to around 30,000 people. Maryville is named for the wife of William Blount, first Governor of the Great State of Tennessee and was founded in 1796. Today, the city is considered to be the Gateway to the Smokies. The city is about twenty-five miles from the park boundary.
