Nanook Returns to Work

The glossy white Dell Inspiron 530 PC known affectionately as Nanook returns to work as the front bench shop server for Computer Catering in Alcoa, Tennessee. Nanook has been a trusty workhorse at the facility for nearly three years, fetching drivers and documents for the machines in for repair and other systems under construction or rebuild. He has also served duty at the CoyoteNET DSS testing facility.

This trusty machine is a mini tower based on LGA775 technology. Fitted with a Core2Duo clocked at 2.33GHz and 8GB (2GBx4) of low profile Kingston DDR2 clocked at 667MHz on two channels, it runs Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 flawlessly, booting off a Samsung 840EVO 240GB SSD. Files are stored on a WD Blue 500GB HDD. Discs can be burned using the TEAC 24x DVDRW ODD behind the top bay door, and flash cards can be read and written using the 27-way TEAC media reader/writer located behind a sliding cover on the front panel.
