This is the Main Data Server at Walnut Hill Productions, Lenoir City Office of Operations at MOJO Ranch. This computer, running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise 32-bit Edition SP2, is affectionately known as Delilah. She is five years old and built from Intel 865PERL technology. In this shot, we see her waiting to go into record mode for the Power Guppies session.
Delilah did what most life forms do recently, she gave birth, that is to say, she begat the software and ordered the hardware that breathed digital life into a smaller server known as Embla, a rig that was constructed for my beautiful and muchly loved Rain Woman of Sweden, to be used as a graphic arts production center.
Delilah is a large computer weighing in at around 75 lbs for the tower, 25 lbs for the 23-inch LCD, 30 lbs for the 750 watt APC UPS, and about 20 more lbs for the Logitech 2.1 loudspeakers. There is also a four-port unmanaged switch, a Canon flatbed scanner (out of view in this shot), a Phillips webcam and Realistic microphone.
The makeshift desk is rigged from a waiter's valet and a TV table. The valet holds the UPS, LCD and stereo squawker/tweeters. The TV table holds the keyboard, trackball, switch, and a Realistic sound pressure meter for checking the actual listening volume of playbacks on the speakers. The Tower rests on the subwoofer, and the Y2K bug has a guard post on top. Under the LCD are the Easy button and volume control for the speakers.
Delilah is a working girl. So is the little girl Embla, whom she begat. These computers may be nice to look at, but they are not built for show. They are all business.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
