What the title says. Clouds and sun are off so ground details are most visible. In this image, we are looking down at the borderlands of Tennessee to the northwest and North Carolina to the southeast on the 26th of August in 2015 from an altitude of about 521 miles. The entirety of the southeastern United States is in view. It is easy to see how cities are slowly encroaching upon the wilderness of the Appalachian Range along the Tennessee Valley to the Atlantic coast of Georgia. It is also easy to spot the now tiny 22 mile distance between the start pin and the one at GSMNPHQ. Although the Earth is small, we humans are much smaller.
