Tennessee 3/17 Mighty WurliTzer 8

This is a 3/4 view of the 3/17 Mighty WurliTzer Theatre Pipe Organ installed at the Tennessee Theatre on Gay Street in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. The lift is at stage level in the up position. The real gold foil adorning the bright red Balaban 2 style console gleams in the spotlights as it did when the organ was new in 1928. This is one of only two such consoles remaining in the entire world. Folks who know this fine instrument lovingly call her Princess Eleonor, the Jewel of the Great Smoky Mountains, and indeed, she is.
