Newfound Gap in Fall of 2014 17

On October 20th, Rangers Travis, Ellen and Ricardo took a trip south on US 441 into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to camp overnight at the Smokemont Camp Ground near Oconaluftee at Cherokee in North Carolina. Ranger Ricardo poses near the Deep Creek trailhead on his 58th birthday, wearing glasses instead of contact lenses, a sight rarely seen.
