Jake's Creek Trail Scenery 35

As the Alcoa Ridge Runners near the end of their trek up to Mirey Ridge, Jake's Creek Trail becomes wider and looks more like a road as it approaches the old Elkmont community in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This wonderful trail affords hikers a lovely four mile trek to the junction of Mirey Ridge. The trail climbs about 1800 feet, and is considered to be a moderate hike, but well worth the effort to see the hidden treasures to be found here. As you head up the mountain, you get to see beautiful forests, many cascades, and a quaint log home that was once the summer studio of the renowned artist, Mayna Avent.
