Headquarters Lobby at GSMNP

While waiting for Jonathan to arrive, I strolled back inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Headquarters Building to reshoot the lobby, a hard picture to get because of the dark paneling made of American Chestnet and the shiny wooden floor below a pristine white ceiling. The open windows and reflections on the pictures hanging on the walls made for an even more difficult exposure.

I ended up with a very contrasty image at best, one with a ton of salt and pepper sensor noise, even though the relatively fast lens of my Nokia Lumia 1520 is made by Carl Zeiss and renders 20 megapixels. The picture was a tad nonlinear and needed some perspective correction and related cropping, along with some filters and parameter adjustments for contrast, brightness and colour in order to get the result you see here.
